CONGRATULATIONS TO THE GRADUATES!

Annie and Claire Bateman graduated from Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School. As is the B-CC tradition, the ceremony took place in the Daughters of the American Revolution Building in Washington, D.C.


Claire and Annie enjoyed all the year end school activities and festivities including their senior prom.

FAREWELL DEAR FRIENDS

The Ambassador of Norway, Wegger Chr. Strommen and Rev. Mrs. Cecile Strommen hosted a festive Farewell Reception in the Ambassador's residence for Leni Stenseth and the Embassy Staff. The evening included a toast to the exiting staff encouraging them to "Be well, do good work and stay in touch." A scene from a popular Norwegian play was presented followed by a light supper. The spirit of the evening was lively, warm and friendly. Florence Lloyd was amongst Leni's guests at the reception. Ambassador Strommen gave Florence a tour of the Embassy's art collection.


LENI, KNUT, MIRA AND FALK SHARE SOME THOUGHTS WITH HER LELAND STREET NEIGHBORS:
"We are only a few days away from our departure to Norway. The last few weeks we have lived at Residence Inn in Bethesda, but the cat has continued to reside in the house and Knut has used it as an office. It has not been a day that we have not been back to 4130. We miss it already.

We would like to thank all of our neighbors in Leland Street for the warm welcome we received when we moved into the run down, but charming little house on Leland Street 4130 3 years ago. We have loved every minute. Our best memories from USA are all related to the street...the thrill at the Halloween Parties, the champagne, strawberries and excitement at the Banana Split party, the caroling, the baby showers, the making of Thanksgiving turkey at the Vincentes house, swimming in the beautiful Forrest pool, enjoying vodkas and nibbles at Florence' house and meeting neighbors over at fine meal at the Gibsons. Mira and Falk both found their best friends on the street, and I am sure they will be back to trace them. We will miss the changing of the seasons, the rythm of the year passing by on the street.

We would like to extend our thanks to the Duffys for hosting a farewell party for us. It really warmed our harts.
If work or vacation bring any of you to Norway, you are always welcome at our new home in Oslo.
